Dr. Richard Powers, Senior Pastor
I am thrilled that you have taken the time to drop in for a visit at the website of G.B.C.. While you look around be mindful that nothing can take the place of actually being in church on Sunday when the services take place. One of the great joys of my life has been to grow up connected to a good church family. Since 1975 it has been my pleasure to be the Senior Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church and I and my family have found the blessings of the Lord through our connection here. Our children have grown up here and now our grandchildren are doing the same. We truly believe that the church family at Grace will be a blessing to every family and every member of every family.
At G.B.C. you'll discover ministries geared to all ages of people. From our youngest attenders who are given loving care in one of our church nurseries all the way to our "Keenagers" (senior citizens) who meet for food, fun, and fellowship on Thursday. There is a place for everyone to find connections at the Grace Baptist Church.
The simple purpose of our website is to help supply the answers to many of the questions that may have caused you to log on for your visit with us. We have tried to give a general but brief overview of our church, it's basic doctrinal beliefs and our ministry opportunities. We encourage you to visit each area of the website and if you still have questions that remain, please feel free to give us a call here in the church office. Pastor Richard Powers
Rev. Glenn Gilley, Associate Pastor
Pastor Glenn Gilley joined our staff in June 1995. He came first as our Associate Pastor for Youth and in September 2000 moved into our Associate Pastor for Missions and Outreach. He is responsible for our annual men's missions trip, outreach ministries, teaches in our Grace Bible Institute, and has a big role in the set up and direction of our annual passion play "Watch the Lamb". He is married to Linda and has 2 children, Phillip and Savannah.
He comes to G.B.C. with 10 years prior experience at Charity Baptist in Brownstown, Michigan in the area of youth ministry. He graduated from Midwestern Baptist College in 1989 and taught youth ministries there for 4 years.
Rev. David Short, Worship & Music
Pastor Dave Short first joined our staff in May 1986 in the area of maintenance and buildings. In June 1990 he added the duties of music and worship. In February 1992 he began fulltime as Associate Pastor of Music and Worship. He is responsible for our music ministries, buildings, handles areas of business, teaches our young couples class "Homebuilders", and is our Registrar in Grace Bible Institute. He is married to Mary and has 5 children, Dayna, Sherylyn, David Jr., Daniel, and Stephen.
He comes to G.B.C. with over 10 years prior experience in ministry at Forrestville Baptist in Cincinnati, Ohio, Galilean Baptist in Victoria, Texas, and First Baptist in Brunswick, Ohio. He has taught at Brunswick Christian School and First Baptist Christian School. He attended Moody Bible Institute, Cedarville College, and is pursuing a master's degree at Andersonville baptist Seminary.
Rick Powers, Jr., Youth Associate
Pastor Rick Powers, Jr. joined our staff as Associate Pastor for Youth in September 2000. He is married to Leah and has 3 children, Brodie, Kiley and Eden. He has served the last 2 years as G.B.C. as intern on the youth staff. He is the fifth generation of Powers to serve in the ministry.
He graduated from First Baptist Christian School in 1992. He then attended Liberty University and graduated in 2001.
